Darryle is a graduate of Winnipeg’s Gordon Bell Panthers High School Football program, he moved west to play for the Surrey Rams in 1981 and also played for the Vancouver Meralomas and Richmond Raiders. He returned to the Rams as a coach from 1991 to 1993 and spent many hours as a kicking coach working with Paul McCallum. Paul still refers to the time that he spent with Darryle on the practice fields of Bear Creek Park as one of the things that helped him on the road to becoming a professional kicker. Darryle returned to the Rams in 2011 as equipment manager and has been one of the hardest working volunteers in the football club since. Darryle has coached minor football in Surrey, North Delta and Langley for many years and was Defensive Coordinator of the Langley Mustangs 2013 Provincial Championship Bantam team. Darryle genuinely cares about Rams players and spends a lot of time into making sure that they are equipped well and look their best when representing the football club, he is highly respected by the players because of it. Darryle is a long time employee of CN Rail and was presented with the Langley Rams inaugural Boa Trucking Award For Positivity in 2014.
