Neil is a welcome addition to the Ram’s staff for 2015 and comes to the club out of Burnaby’s Saint Thomas More High School where he spent the past two seasons coaching receivers for the Knights and coaching in Football BC’s Provincial program. Prior to 2012, Neil spent five seasons coaching at the high school level and as guest coach at various development camps throughout Ontario. He is currently NCCP trained in ‘safe contact’ and as a ‘positional coach’ (receivers). In addition to football-specific training, Neil is also certified as an NCCP Fundamental Movement Skills facilitator.
A native of Ontario, Neil began his playing career with the Oshawa Hawkeys in the OVFL before moving to Halifax, where he attended Saint Mary’s University and played for Blake Nill’s 2002 Vanier Cup winning Huskies. After graduating from SMU with a degree in psychology, Neil finished his CIS career playing two seasons with the York Lions of the OUA while earning a second undergraduate degree in Sociology. Neil now lives in New Westminster with his fiancée, Annabelle – and is the Sport Development Coordinator for the City of Surrey.
