Derksen brings over 20 years of football experience as a player and a coach to the Rams program and will work alongside Cory Philpot putting Rams running backs through the paces, he will also help with Special Teams.
Mike’s coaching career started at Rick Hansen Secondary, where he was running backs coach for the Junior Varsity and Varsity programs.
Derksen, following his time with the Hurricanes, spent 12 years with the Chilliwack Giants program where he took on many duties over the years, including Head Coach, Vice President and Equipment Manager, his dedication to the program helped to build the Giants into the strong Community Football program that it is today.
Prior to joining the Rams staff in 2017 Derksen spent two seasons as Offensive Coordinator of the Langley Stampeders Midget program, helping them to win the BCCFA Provincial Championship in 2016.
Derksen has also coached with the Team BC and ABC Border Bowl programs.
In the Off Season Derksen operates Red Zone Academy, a training program designed to help athletes with Speed, Agility and Full workout programs.
